Headshots are an essential part of any professional portfolio. It will help you stand out from the competition and show that you are credible, trustworthy, and approachable. According to Forbes Magazine, you have 7 seconds to make a first impression, and some research suggests a tenth of a second is all it takes to start determining traits like trustworthiness. If you're a job seeker, entrepreneur, actor, or want to look your best on a dating website a great headshot can help you make a positive first impression and stand out from the competition.
I understand that having pictures taken can be awkward. Past bad photo experiences can leave you believing that you are not photogenic. That's where I come in! I specialize in headshots that look like you - the best you! I take the time to understand your needs and coach you through the process of achieving the look you are after for your headshot photo. I provide a comfortable and relaxed environment for you during their session. It’s my job to make you look great! You just be yourself!
Experience: With more than 20 years experience as a professional photographer, I know how to pose you and light you in a flattering way. My repeat headshot clients include, NBC Boston, Telemundo Boston, NBC Sports Boston, NECN, Bentley University, as well as dozens of small to mid sized biotech, communications, real estate, and manufacturing companies all over New England.
Style: Consider your own personal style and what you're looking for in a headshot. Do you want a traditional, corporate headshot or something more creative? Let's have a conversation about what you or your organization is looking for from a headshot session, and create a plan together.
Scalability: Capturing a great headshot of an individual is one thing, but what if your company needs headshots of its entire executive team...or all of the individuals in an organization? I have experience scaling a headshot sessions to up to 40+ people a day.
Speed and Efficiency: Time is money, and I don't want to tie up half of your day on a headshot. I move fast, with the goal to get as much in as short a time as possible. Most headshots can be done in 10-15 minutes for a variety of poses and even multiple backgrounds.
Technology: Utilizing the latest technology, I deploy tablets that are wirelessly connected to each of my cameras. That allows me to review the photos with you throughout the session, to ensure that we are capturing exactly what you are looking for. It gives me the ability to receive instant feedback from you and make adjustments based on your feedback. And it allows you to choose your favorite images on site, during the session.
In addition to headshots, I also offer personal branding sessions that capture you in your environment. I bring the studio to you to create environmental portraits that help people envision how it is to do business with your brand. You are your brand! Let me help you capture it.
I also offer sessions for people who are looking to connect with that special someone through an online dating app. Similar to the personal branding sessions, I take a little time with you in your environment to showcase who you are through a series of headshots and environmental portraits that capture who you are and what you like to do. Is cooking your thing? Let's make a meal together. Mountain biking? I'll hop in front of your bike as you hurtle downhill to capture an image of you in your element. My images can help you find success in the dating world as you navigate the wild world of bumble, tinder, badoo, OKCupid, match, eharmony, c-date, or plenty of fish.

When choosing what to wear for your headshot, my advice is to wear that outfit you have that makes you say, "Damn, I look GOOOODDD" when you look in the mirror. Need more guidance? First, dress in an outfit that matches the image you are trying to portray. Is this a professional headshot for a white collar corporate job? Then maybe a suit coat or nice blouse. Is this a headshot for social media or a dating profile? Choose an outfit that you would wear on a night out at a restarant or nice bar. Either way, avoid overly bright colors or busy patterns. When viewers see your headshot, you want them to be drawn to your face, not your clothes. The clothes are there to compliment your face. Also, remember that layering is your friend. You can always add or remove a jacket, glasses, jewelry and other accessories to quickly change your look, even if we only have time to photograph one outfit.
A headshot session lasts as long as we need to get an image that you love. I usually ask for at least 10-15 minutes for a basic headshot with only one outfit. That gives us enough time to run through a basic series of poses, review them together on the tablet, make adjustments, and shoot a second set of poses if necessary. Add a second outfit, and we'll want another 10-15 minutes. Headshot sessions for dating profiles and branding shoots usually take an hour to 90 minutes. Thats because I like to spend a little more time with my clients to incorporate different settings and backgrounds, and really take time for them to relax in front of the camera, so that their true personality is showing through in the photos.
When it comes to location, I can host you in my home studio or I can bring the studio to you. For individual headshots, it can often be easier (and cheaper) to visit me in Grafton, MA. I have an area of my home set aside for headshots, along with clean, private facilities that you can use to check your hair and/or makeup and change outfits. If you are looking to get headshots for multiple people in your organization, I can bring my studio to you. Typically a conference room, large office, or breakroom is all I need to set up my portable studio. For branding sessions or dating profile photos, I typically like to photograph you in your environment...be that your place of business, your home, or your favorite outdoor area.
Your headshot is the modern equivalent of your business card. You want to make sure that when people meet you in person, you look like the headshot that they first saw when they visited your company's website or your social media profile. So while you may be really attached to that amazing photo you got your senior year in college, if you are asking this question, it's probably time for a new one! A good rule of thumb is that you refresh your headshot every year or two.
Yes! I can bring a portable studio to your place of business, and can typically photograph 4-5 employees per hour. If your company has 8-10 employees I can usually get them all done in under two hours. If you are a company with 100 employees, then we'll schedule a multi day shoot to give everyone the opportunity to participate. With larger shoots, the key is organization, and I will work with you to create a shooting schedule with a time slot for every employee. My pricing is scaled to the size of your organization, so the more employees I photograph, the less expensive your per-employee cost.
Yes! Adding a headshot station to your business conference or annual employee meeting is a great way to reward your employees with a free-to-them headshot while also ensuring that you always have up to date headshots for everyone. These types of headshot sessions are a little faster paced, but my portable studio means that it is easy for me to set up in a place that is visible and accessible to all of the participants, and still get studio quality results. For business conferences, I charge a fixed rate for the day, rather than a per employee rate.
I offer three categories of headshot sessions: Business Headshots, Branding Photo Sessions, and Dating Profile Photo Sessions. Business headshots are the simplist of the three, with a clean, simple background , studio lighting, and the objective to capturea classic headshot of you for your company's website or your LinkedIn profile. It is a static shoot, with you in one location, seated or standing in front of a photo background. Branding photo sessions are about letting people see you interacting with your small business. In addition to the clean headshot against a simple backdrop, with a branding session my goal is to tell the story of your business in photos. During a branding session we will move around your place of business, putting your in various locations and even multiple outfits. Think of a branding session like a magazine sending a photographer to do a profile on you at your place of business. Dating profile photo sessions are similar to branding sessions, but instead of focusing on your business, we are focusing on your personality and your interests. Dating profile photo sessions can take up to two hours, with multiple locations and multiple outfit changes with the goal to make you look your best at being you! Let's go to your favorite coffee shop and read a book while sipping a dark roast. Or walk around your local park with your dog. Or ride your bike along the local bike path.
A headshot is an investment into your personal success, whether it be in the business world or the dating world. My headshot rates start at $200 for a basic headshot session in my home studio. If I come to your place of business, rates start at $500, and decrease the more employees you add in. Branding sessions and dating profile sessions start at $750. Contact me for a custom rate.
I wish I had a dollar for everytime someone has told me that they don't like getting photos done! Listen, I get it. I don't like to have my photo taken either. Especially, since I'm not 25 anymore! I can't make you like having your photo taken, but what I can do is create a fun, calm, low pressure environment where you are free to be you, and I'm your biggest cheerleader. If I had a dollar for every time someone who, at the start of the session, told me they hated picture day, and at the end of the session said, "That was actually fun"...I reckon I could retire on a tropical island! Take the plunge, do something brave for yourself...I'll do my best to make it an experience you enjoy!
This one might actually be my most frequenly asked question. We all have something we don't like about ourselves, and it's usually the first thing our eyes focus on when we are trying to decide if we like a photo that we are in. The key is communication. I have an extensive knowlege of posing and lighting tricks to help you look your best, so if you share with me issues you've had with photos of yourself in the past, then I can do my best to minimize the things your don't like to see, while maximizing the things you do! That's where the instant feedback of the tablet comes into play. As soon as I take a group of photos, I bring the tablet to you to review them...as part of the session. This allows us to have a conversation about what you like and don't like, and helps me made adjustments on the fly. And if you wake up the morning of the session, with a fresh pimple right in the middle of your forehead, I can handle that too. Basic touch up is included with every headshot session. A little digital nip here and tuck there, a splash of my secret editing sauce; I like to keep it subtle because I want you to look like you...but the best possible you!
AI is taking the world by storm, and giving people an incredible set of tools to make their everyday tasks easier. And you've likely seen friends who have taken advantqge of the latest AI headshot tools to make their own headshots. As a photographer I must admit that some of the results I have seen are pretty impressive. So why would you spend so much money to hire a professional photographer to take an in person headshot? I believe that a good headshot is about more than just nice lighting and a pleasant expression. A good headshot creates an image of you that portrays confidence, and competence. A good headshot makes the viewer think, "Yeah, I'd go talk to that person at a party". A good headshot imparts a sense of who you are as a human being. I don't believe that an algorithm can capture all of that. I believe that a great headshot comes from the organic interaction between the photographer and the model. And my goal is to create a great experience for you, so that I can capture that great headshot.
