Ryanne & Ryan (January 10, 2009)
Saturday marked my first wedding of 2009, when Ryanne married Ryan at St Richard parish in Danvers. I don’t get too many winter weddings…maybe that’s because it always snows on them! Saturday’s snowstorm was OK, though. Not only did it allow us to get some really cool snowy nighttime photos, but it also held off until everyone was safely tucked into the hotel for the evening.
My day began at Salon D’Amore in Danvers as Ryanne’s hair was getting it’s finishing touches. From there we headed over to Salon 21, also in Danvers, for the make-up. Once all the girls were fully beautified, we headed to the historic Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, where Ryanne was dressed in her beautiful gown. As a wedding photographer, having enough time to get in all of the creative ideas I have can often be a challenge, but Ryanne was ready so quickly that he had lots of time to take a range of bridal portraits in a variety of locations.
Quick as a flash it was time for the ceremony, and we all headed to St Richard Parish in Danvers. The ceremony was beautiful as the happy couple was backlit by thousands of holiday lights, and cheered by hundreds of guests. After the ceremony we all headed back to the Hawthorne for the elegant reception where the music of DJ Chris Culkeen and the exuberant celebration of Ryanne and Ryan’s many friends and family members belied the icy conditions outside.
