It’s always exciting for me when I get a chance to do the wedding of a second family member.  It feels a bit like a reunion, where you get to see a lot of familiar smiling faces!  So it was awesome to have the chance to photograph Kerry and Mark’s wedding.  I photographed Kerry’s sister, Maura’s, wedding in 2006, and felt immediately welcome again with the family…and I got to meet Maura’s new little son!

We started the day at the Cove Motel in Orleans, MA…a charming little motel right on the water.  After spending a little time with the girls getting ready, we headed outside and took all of the family photos we could without the bride and groom seeing one another.  Then everyone loaded up on a trolly for the short ride to the church.

The ceremony took place at St Joan of Arc Church in Orleans.  I love that church!  In addition to being very bright inside, it’s also very accessible, with lots of room to move around and shoot from a variety of different angles.  It was a perfect celebration.

Then it was back on the trolley for a leisurely drive to the Wequassett Inn in Chatham.  Upon arriving at the Wequasett, we decided to use the beautiful fireplace room for the family photos.  Quick as can be we moved through the family photos, and took off for a tour around the building with Kerry and Mark for their first portraits as a married couple.  Between walking on the wet grass and tucking into the fog of the kitchen exhaust fan, they were super adventurous!  After our circuit, it was back into the Wequassett for the party, the food…and the candy :).
